Programming Objective

A broad range of work, including emerging artists for Festival Managed Venues programming and specific development programmes, such as, Comedy Zone.  Gideon also programmes the Comedy Festival Roadshow which tours to over 70 venues annually across Australia.

Gideon has worked for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival since 2007. In addition to producing special events of the Festival, Gideon’s focus is development. Gideon tours to SE Asia and India annually with the Melbourne Comedy Festival Roadshow tour and similarly creates opportunities for Asian artists to engage and perform in Melbourne at the Festival.

Gideon’s career in the arts includes Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Melbourne Commonwealth Games Cultural Program, Melbourne International Film Festival and five festivals at Melbourne Fringe. In addition, Gideon has produced the Moosehead Awards presented at the Melbourne Comedy Festival and worked at Token Events.
