In 2021 MKA is offering co-production and fee support for new or existing new writing theatre / contemporary performance projects to be presented in October, during the Melbourne Fringe Festival, as part of our 2021 programming at the MKA | PAVILION (Fitzroy Gardens).

Season Length: We’re open to different season lengths! Maybe your show is a one night only event. Maybe it should run for three nights? Multiple shows a night for a shorter run? One show a night for the full two weeks?
Venue: The Pavilion at Fitzroy Gardens is a super weird super unique venue. It was a cafe/restaurant and now it’s the MKA Summer palace (or in this case, Spring). This is not a normal venue! It’s in the middle of beautiful gardens, next to the Fairies Tree and the Miniature Tudor Village (lol). A stage show in the venue might build a set or it might use the huge glass windows and the forest beyond. Perhaps you don't even want to do the show inside- maybe you want to use the Miniature Tudor Village (again: lol). Let’s talk!

Support:
– An upfront season fee of between $600-$2000 depending on the needs of the work. audience capacity, and length of run
– co-production profit share (ie. you’ll be taking something around 85% of the door)
– bumpin and technical rehearsals time in the venue
– storage on site
– shared dressing room / backstage area– negotiable technical support depending on the project needs
