ABOUT US

We are a private higher education academy located in South Melbourne looking to offer a space to up and coming creatives as well as bring industry experience opportunities to our Creative Industries students. In 2021 we opened our brand-new campus building, which boasts a fully sound treated 190 capacity seated auditorium on Level 2, as well as a Rooftop space with both external and internal areas on Level 3, all accessible via lifts.

All of the lecturers and heads of department at JMC, come from arts backgrounds; musicians, writers, visual and digital artists, filmmakers, audio engineers, event workers, and gamers, who are keen to bring as much arts exposure to our students as humanly possible.

What are we looking for?

Bring us something diverse. Something strange and thought provoking. Something political. Something beautiful. Something technical. Something emotional. Something that might change the lives, minds, hearts of people in their early 20s.

What do we offer?

We can look after the venue management side of your performance, can offer both spaces free of charge, and we also have a body of students who are studying their bachelors in audio engineering, technical production, business management and so on, who are familiar with the spaces and are super keen to get their hands-on real-world projects. So we can match suitable students with your show to handle the box office (with supervision), front of house, audio operation, lighting operation, visuals and so on. We can also advertise the shows on our social media platforms, website and student wide newsletters leading up.

Tech rehearsals can be arranged but must fit around class timetables as classes will be taking place in the spaces leading up to and during Fringe.

Available dates and times for Performances:

Thursday 30th September to Sunday 17th October.

The spaces are available for weekends only due to classes during the week, however if you would like to propose a longer run that uses other weeknights, please get in touch to chat through your idea further.

Fridays: 5:30pm to 9.00pm

Saturdays: 10am to 9.00pm
